My name is Rianne Sharpsten. I have a BA in communications/

journalism with a concentration in public relations from Shippensburg University. Shippensburg University has introduced me to the communications field, and my education has taught me skills useful for a public relations professional. Shippensburg has given me the ability outside of class to learn and implement my knowledge of PR and offered me leadership opportunities. I have also received the benefit of communicating, working, and creating with many different people. While in school, I partook in event planning and was the PR chair in Alpha Sigma Tau. The position has allowed me to enhance my skills in Adobe creative programs as well as gain a better understanding of social media and its important in PR, for I managed all social media for the organization. Alpha sigma tau has provided me with insight into the public relations field and makes me eager to continue working to become a PR professional. I am currently seeking opportunities to apply these skills I have attained in my education, and through my affiliations in a real world business environment to further advance my expertise.
